CR10: Confronting the Prison Industrial Complex (Fundraisers Info too)

Critical Resistance was born out of powerful organizing in Berkeley California in 1998 against the Prison Industrial Complex. 10 years later, they are calling for anyone who is concerned about the increasing criminalization of whole groups of people in N. America, the rise of prisons, industries surrounding prisons, and ICE “containment facilities” ie prisons, to converge on California once again.

In keeping with a decolinized praxis this event is free. However, Critical Resistance is asking those who can afford it to consider paying the cost of hosting them and any other attendees that they can afford. The cost is $100/person.

Please join us September 26-28, 2008 in Oakland, CA, for CR10, Critical Resistance’s 10th Anniversary celebration and international conference and strategy session. Through workshops, skills shares, performances, action, reflection, and celebration CR10 aims to offer a space to assess where we’ve been as a movement and encourage collective conversation about where we should head next in our effort to build a world without walls.
